I've never met James, aka Jimbo of Jimbo's Japan blog fame... but through a few e-mails and lots of blog reading, he seems like a decent, thoughtful guy with a good sense of humor.
He is an American, but don't let that stop you from liking him! He also has more knowledge about Japan than I do. Yes, I admit it. Though my blog still rocks.
Jimbo (and Mayumi) has begun a campaign to raise funds for their upcoming web series called 'Jimbo's Japan: Season One'.
Here's what Jimbo has to say...
"We are using Kickstarter as a way to get ordinary people like you to raise money to get creative projects like ours started up.
We are going to Japan in the Spring of 2013 to film hilarious episodes for our series that is all about cool stuff to see and do in Japan. We are starting out in Tokyo and working our way out from there based on how much money we can get for this campaign.
I know times are tough the world over financially (which is why we are raising money like this), but donations aren't the only way you can help our campaign.
We need to spread the word!
Do you have a blog or a website that gets lots of views? Write a post about our campaign!
Do you know people who love to travel? Tell them about our project! They might find it useful one day!
But seriously, what we need more than money right now, is to get the word out. We have 30 days to raise $10,000 and if we don't meet our goal by the time the 30 days is over, we get absolutely nothing! So please, help us out and tell everyone you know about this project and if you can spare even $1, we would really appreciate it.
We are taking a big risk in doing this and we hope that you can take a tiny risk and believe in us to succeed.

Okay buddy... good luck. It sounds like a great plan. If you see any gaijin youths about 20 years of age with a Canadian accent, tell them dad says 'hi'.
Cheers
