Long time reader and longer time friend Matthew sent me a link to an interesting story created by BBC News who wondered if Japan technical companies possess the skill and knowledge to pull themselves out of the hole they have apparently dug themselves into.
The well-written story from the mind of Leo Kelion offers a peak a what Japan's Big 3 electronics giants—Sony, Panasonic and Sharp—are expecting in 2013.
The answers may surprise you, as it is peppered with expectations of turnarounds and of losses equal to or greater than what TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power CO) suffered after its nuclear plant nearly melted down a few times, but still managed to expel some radiation into the ground, water and air.
And, with TEPCO forced to make some massive payouts to the thousands of disenfranchised people in the northeast coast of Japan, how can one company expect to suffer a similar financial kick in the ass?
If I was a betting man on the stockmarket, I might think some of the information gleaned from this article would cause me great pause.
