Because I'm burned out, my apologies for not continuing just yet with the Japan Expedition. It takes a lot of typing and my eyes are itchy from allergies or lack of sleep or whatever the hell is bothering me.
Instead, here's a photo of one of my lunches from a week ago. It's from Mac Sushi over at the Fairview Mall in Toronto, and it is a Dragon Roll sushi.
It's not on the menu online - I just looked, so what the hell is it? Well, near as I can tell, it's a less spicy version of the spicy dragon roll I wrote about HERE.
With a delicious 10 rolls of sushi of salmon, shrimp tempura bits, cucumber, mayonnaise, wasabi honey sauce, the major difference between this and the spicy version is a lack of hot sauce.
Bravo. The wasabi honey still packs enough sweet heat to make me wonder why it is that I find hot and spicy food to be a challenge to my manhood that must be conquered to be sated.
Regardless, this was delicious, and if I did not love my unagi (eel) sushi so much I would have this all the time.
And I wonder why I have put on 25-pounds since the year began. I know... I nearly plotzed. I wish I had, I probably would weigh less.
I kid... it's not the Mac Sushi Japanese food - it's my having seconds or thirds at dinner.
It's not so much diet time as it is eating better and tossing in some walking at lunch.
It's funny. Twenty years ago, I thought I had put on a lot of weight during my second year in Japan - I was up to 186 pounds. Now, thanks to getting a larger build through working out, 186 would be the perfect buff weight for me. I would settle for 210.
Oh well... being broke-ish, I can afford not to eat.
Cheers,
Andrew Joseph
