Here's some interesting news regarding the reboot of the Godzilla - King of the Monsters - movie, slated for release on May 16, 2014 - actors who HOPEFULLY will be appearing in it have been named!
Though still unsigned, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen (see photo above: Bryan Cranston, Godzilla, and Elizabeth Olsen - Photo: FilmMagic/Everett/Getty) are in the running to appear in the flick alongside British actor Aaron Johnston who is already signed.
Cranston, for the uninitiated was the goofy dad in the television series Malcom In The Middle and most recently wrapping up the wonderful Breaking Bad series.
For myself, I'm not so thrilled about the fact that anyone related to the Olsen twins is participating in anything. Olsen's sisters are the famous/infamous Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley who played wooden toddlers in the popular but barfy Full House TV series. Elizabeth Olsen is their younger sister and looks exactly like her twin sisters, and I don't care that she has achieved 'critical' success with indie films. Indie films means no one has seen it.
Oh well... maybe she'll be in the rubber suit.
As for Johnson, I've not heard of him either, but at least he appears to have some acting ability having played John Lennon (young version) in the British series Nowhere Boy.
Even though Cranston and Olsen are not yet signed, that still means there is only 15 months for the film to be shot, edited and have SFX added.
Despite the expected release date, I wouldn't hold my radioactive breath it will be out then.
Or... maybe she'll play Godzilla's love interest and be horribly, horribly killed in a sex scene.
Cheers
